Nassau Regional Off-Track Betting Corporation promotes responsible gambling in the New York racing industry. Sometimes recreational gambling can become a problem for some people. Individuals can participate in the New York State Gaming Commission Statewide Voluntary Exclusion Program. This program is a New York State mandated program to assist individuals who believe they have a gambling problem by allowing them the opportunity to voluntarily request that they be excluded from entrance to all New York State gaming facilities, including casinos, horse racing, off-track betting, ADW, video lottery gaming and interactive fantasy sports activities in New York State pursuant to sections 4044.2, 4123.2, 4411.2 and 5117.6 and part 5326 of Title 9 of the Official Compilation of Codes, Rules and Regulations of the State of New York and New York Racing, Pari-Mutuel Wagering and Breeding Law section 1404(1)(d).
To sign up for the New York State Gaming Commission Statewide Voluntary Exclusion Program an individual must complete the New York State Gaming Commission Statewide Voluntary Exclusion form. This form is available on the New York State Gaming Commission website, by clicking here.
Account holders may request that their accounts be closed, that daily or weekly wagering limits be placed on their account, or that online deposits to their account through ACH transfers and credit and debit cards be restricted by e-mailing [email protected] or writing to Nassau OTB Customer Service, 139 Liberty Avenue, Mineola, NY 11501.
Nassau OTB Account holders may request that the above restrictions be removed from their account by writing to Nassau OTB Customer Service at the addresses above. Requests will be effective seven (7) days after receipt of the request.
Gambling has rapidly become an acceptable and regular part of our society. For most people gambling is a recreational activity, something that is fun and entertaining. But for others gambling causes problems and for some, it becomes uncontrollable and is no longer a choice. Compulsive gambling is not a bad habit but rather a life threatening disorder. Compulsive gambling is destructive to families, friendships, and careers. Bills go unpaid, basic needs like money for food and rent are neglected. Some gamblers become suicidal. Most will need help to change their gambling behavior.

The New York Council on Problem Gambling is under contract with the NYS Office of Mental Health to provide resource referral and service agency information to consumers. The Helpline provides 24-hour telephone coverage, supportive intervention and resource and referral information to persons seeking assistance regarding problem gambling. The Helpline staff is trained to handle crisis and non-crisis calls addressing concerns such as family, financial or work related problems, alcohol or substance abuse, medical concerns and/or suicidal thoughts.
